One of the country's great small museums, the Holburne houses a collection of fine and decorative arts, built around the exquisite art collection of Sir William Holburne assembled in 19th-century Bath.

The permanent exhibition shows works from its collection of nationally significant paintings, Renaissance bronzes and maiolica, silver, sculpture, furniture and porcelain, including important and popular works by Brueghel, Gainsborough and Stubbs.

There is a series of temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

The museum is in a Grade One listed building that sits at one end of Great Pulteney Street with Sydney Gardens behind.

The Holburne Museum Garden Café is at the back of the museum.
